He currently serves as Associate Dean of full-time MBAs at INCAE Business School. He got his Ph.D in Environmental Resources Economics and a master's degree in Agricultural Science with emphasis in Economics from the University of Hohenheim, Germany. Before coming to INCAE, he was in charge of the economic project within a national macro project in Germany called precision agriculture. He also taught graduate-level classes at the University of Hohenheim, and was a visiting professor at the University of Minnesota.

She was a Fulbright scholarship recipient granted by the US State Department. Her research focuses on the study of technology management phenomena and her methodology includes data analytics, computational social science, especially philosophical and methodological challenges of using “machine learning” techniques for causal inference. She is interested in teaching the strategic use of information technologies, data analytics and project management, using both the traditional approach as well as agile methodologies.

Her areas of research include: the promotion of gender diversity in leadership, ethical leadership and anti-corruption best practices in the public and private sectors. She is a consultant for corporations in Brazil, Chile, Argentina, Colombia, Venezuela and Central America, such as Coca-Cola, HSBC, General Mills, Procter & Gamble, Hewlett Packard, Cargill, Walmart and INTEL. She is also an advisor for governmental agencies, educational institutions and development banks.

She has a graduate degree in Leadership Coaching from Georgetown University, Washington DC. She obtained her MBA at INCAE Business School and graduated with a double major in Social and Organizational Psychology from McGill University in Montreal, Canada. She teaches Leadership and Marketing, and leads her own company, Brainpower Latin America, where she is an Executive Coach for Senior Leaders, a Leadership and Women's Leadership lecturer, a brand strategy consultant, and a personal brand expert.

A professor of Strategy and Competitiveness at INCAE, he obtained his doctoral degree at Harvard, where his research was super - vised by Prof. Michael E. Porter. He also has a master's degree in Industrial Engineering from the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, and a graduate degree in Industrial Engineering from Universidad de Costa Rica. He is an associate researcher at Harvard Business School's Institute of Strategy and Competitiveness. He has been an adjunct professor at Tufts University in Boston and a consultant for companies and governments. He has been a member of the Presidential Commission on Competitiveness in Nicaragua.

At Brandeis University in the US, she obtained a master's degree and a Ph.D in Literary Studies. Her doctoral thesis was about Garcia Marquez's "The Autumn of the Patriarch" and the Latin American dictator novel. Before joining, she was a FulbrightLASPAU scholarship recipient for three years and, for two consecutive years, she was granted the Hirschfeld Fellowship at Brandeis University. She currently teaches in the areas of Humanities and Communication at the Costa Rica campus.

He's a network scientist and sociometry consultant. He's contributed to business being more competitive through internal and external collaboration through technological platforms and psychometric tools. He got his Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he worked with one of the 100 more influential people of the world according to Newsweek, Alex Sandy Pentland.

He has geared his work towards the areas of General Management and Strategic Change in emerging countries, focusing on formal and informal market inclusion and creating concepts based on the philosophy of processes to generate a sustainable economic and social impact. He is also the Academic Director of VIVA Idea, where he develops new teaching methods to create and spread knowledge about sustainable social enterprises. He brings together sustainability experts and entrepreneurs to create and execute business plans.

I have obtained his Ph.D. in Management Decision Science from IE Business School and an MSc. in International Management from the same school. He's an assistant professor at INCAE Business School, where he focuses on Management Decisions' Science. He is also an adjunct professor in the area of ​​Operations and Technology at IE Business School and a member of the Decision Analysis Society (INFORMS), as well as co-editor of the Ask Das column of Decision Analysis Today. His research focuses on the intersection of theoretical knowledge of decision making (related to mathematical models), and how they are actually done in practice (related to cognitive and social psychology), for application in managerial decisions

Mahsa Memarian is Professor of Finance at INCAE Business School. She received her Ph.D. in Financial Management from IESE Business School, University of Navarra, Spain. Her research interests lie at the intersection of Urban/Real Estate Economics, Asset Pricing and Corporate Finance.

In particular, she analyzes the effect of urban characteristics of cities and their management system on firms' performance and financial performance. She holds a Master of Science degree in Management Research from IESE Business School, a Master of Science degree in Socioeconomic Systems Engineering specializing in Economics and Finance from Sharif University of Technology, Iran, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Tehran University, Iran.

Mahsa is one of the reviewers of Journal of Business Research (JOBR), and also the member of the Editorial Board of INCAE Business Review, Academic Finance Committee for Women (AFFECT) of the American Finance Association, Women Economists of Latin America and the Caribbean Committee (WELAC), and Latin American and Caribbean Urban Economics Network Economic Association (LACEA).

Assistant Professor in the area of ​​Accounting and Controlling. He holds a PhD in Management Sciences with emphasis in Controlling from HEC PARIS and an MSC in Comparative Development Studies from the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales de Paris (EHESS). Professor Cuenca has taught at HEC PARIS and has been a visiting professor at the Sorbonne University (PARIS I, Panthéon Sorbonne). Raquel Chanto is a PhD candidate in Politics at the University of Oxford.

A German and Swiss national, Silke Bucher is an Assistant Professor at INCAE Business School with a specialization in Organizational Behavior and Leadership. After completing her Master of Science in Business Administration at the Catholic University Eichstätt-Ingolstadt, Germany, she obtained her Ph.D. in Organizational Change from the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland. She completed her post-doctorate at the Chair of Strategic Management in Pluralistic Environments at HEC Montréal, Canada. She was a team leader and expert consultant for organizational culture at McKinsey & Company, Costa Rica. Her research to date has focused on organizational change and inter-group collaboration, with a particular interest in the health sector.

He completed his doctoral studies in Complexity Management at the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology, England and the University of Valladolid, Spain, graduating Summa Cum Laude, for his work in Strategy Execution and Operationalization.  

He holds a Master of Philosophy in Strategic Simulation and Organizational Learning from Manchester School of Management. He holds a Master of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies and Environmental Management from the University of Oregon, USA.  

He obtained an MBA with emphasis in Finance and a Postgraduate Degree in Functional Management from INCAE, where he graduated with High Distinction. He has attended management education training programs at Harvard Business School and London Business School. He received the British Chevening Scholarship Award, the Fulbright Scholarship and a scholarship from the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation. He holds a degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Costa Rica.  

He has been a consultant for the World Bank, founder and member of boards of directors of several companies, advisor to the Industrial Reconversion Program of Costa Rica in the leather and footwear, textile, apparel, food and plastics sectors.

Prof. Martinez is an experienced coach who has seen and felt the substantial impact of energizing and inspiring coaching conversations. Applying Boyatzis' model of intentional change (ICT), his approach is positive and appreciative, looking for ways to help others identify and find their ideal self.

He has taught courses at the undergraduate and MBA level at Case Western Reserve University, in addition to facilitating coaching and leadership workshops. He is currently an Assistant Professor at INCAE, where he teaches courses in Human Resource Management.

Prof. Martinez holds a Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior from Case Western Reserve University and an MBA from INCAE Business School.

Alberto Trejos received his PhD in economics from the University of Pennsylvania. As an academic, he has been a faculty member at Northwestern University and INCAE, where he also served as Dean and as director of the Latin American Center for Competitiveness and Sustainable Development. 

He has also been a visiting scholar at the University of Michigan, the Institut d'Anàlisi Econòmica de Barcelona, ​​the University of California and the Federal Reserve Bank of the United States. 

He has published extensively in both academic journals and practitioner media, especially in monetary theory, macroeconomics, international trade and development. In Costa Rica he was Minister of Foreign Trade, a position from which he led the negotiation of CAFTA. He was one of the original members of the Financial System Supervisory Council and, for almost a decade, president of CINDE. 

He participated in the design and negotiation of the Worker Protection Law, which constituted the comprehensive reform of the pension system. He has been a founding director of the Brenthurst Foundation of South Africa, the Democracy Lab and the advisory board of the New York University School of Public Health.

Senior Researcher and IPS Project Director of the Latin American Center for Competitiveness and Sustainable Development (CLACDS) of INCAE Business School, and expert in methodology of The Social Progress Imperative, where he participates in the design and implementation of the sub-national projects of the Social Progress Network. Lecturer in methodological trainings for the measurement of Social Progress held at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), INCAE and the What Works in Social Progress 2017 conference in Iceland. Economist from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM), with two master's degrees from the London School of Economics (LSE), in Social Policy, and Population and Development.  

Dr. Arnoldo Rodríguez is an associate professor at INCAE in the areas of Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting and Controlling. He earned his doctorate from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota. He is also a graduate of INCAE's MBA program. Professor Rodriguez is the Director of INCAE's Master's program in Analytics, Innovation and Technology (MAIT).

He also serves as a consultant to companies in Latin America and has been a visiting professor at the University of Minnesota, Webster University in St. Louis, and has lectured and taught at universities throughout Latin America. His main academic interests focus on the topics of Value Creation, Risk Management and Accounting Systems Analysis and how companies structure and manage these topics in the age of analytics.

Luis López is a Full Professor at INCAE Business School and a specialist in the area of ​​Operations and Technology Management. He has taught courses in INCAE's master's programs, both in the residential and executive programs, and in executive seminars in different countries.

He has experience as a consultant to companies in several Latin American countries, especially in: Technology Management, Manufacturing Strategy and Strategic Simulation. Recently he has explored possible uses of continuous simulation in environments that combine continuous flows with discrete flows in the production, transportation and storage of goods.

Mauricio Jenkins, a full professor, holds a Ph.D. degree in International Economics and Finance and a Master's degree in International Economics and Finance from Brandeis University. He also holds an MBA with distinction from INCAE Business School and a BS in Civil Engineering from the University of Costa Rica.

He teaches courses in the areas of finance and international business for MBA students, as well as numerous executive seminars on business valuation, portfolio management, treasury management, investment projects and structuring of financing in countries such as Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala , Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, Dominican Republic and Venezuela.

Andrea M. Prado is an associate professor of management and organizations at INCAE Business School. She is director of the Strachan Chair of Philanthropy and Social Investment. Her research explores the role of companies in promoting sustainable development in the countries where they operate, particularly through their corporate social responsibility strategies and the delivery of products and services to low-income populations.

She also studies the impact and dynamics of industry self-regulation (ie, the adoption of voluntary certification programs) to promote environmental and labor practices in emerging economies. She has published her research in prestigious academic journals, books and book chapters and has received multiple international awards.

He is an academic and senior consultant in innovation and technology management with particular emphasis on governance of information platforms and ecosystems, and orchestration of long-term digital transformation processes. He is currently a research associate in the governance of intelligent autonomous systems and Artificial Intelligence, as part of the Trustworthiness of Autonomous Systems (TAS) UK project, at the School of Informatics, University of Edinburgh, UK.

In parallel to his academic life, he has participated in multiple strategic consulting processes in organizational and digital transformation, in various industries and organizations in the public and private sector, both in Latin America and Europe. He has significant experience in the strategic articulation for the adoption of large-scale complex platforms. He has more than a decade linked to INCAE Business School, initially as a consultant and associate researcher and then as part of the invited faculty. For several years he coordinated the annual evaluation of the provision of public services by digital means in Costa Rica, his country of origin; a systematic measurement conducted externally from INCAE, which analyzed the citizen's experience when interacting digitally with state institutions.

INCAE Professor Emeritus Guillermo Selva Tapia holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration with a specialization in Operations Management from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He also holds two degrees from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, a Master's degree in Electromechanical Engineering (MScEE) and a Master's degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering (MScISE). He is a graduate of the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, Mexico, where he earned his electrical engineering degree, and is a member of the Alpha Pi Mu Industrial Engineering honorary society.

At the Institution, as a professor he taught classes in the Operations area, he also served as a researcher, instructor and Associate Dean of the Master's programs. During his career at INCAE, Professor Selva wrote more than 80 case studies and technical notes on energy management, operations management, service management, operational improvement and operations strategy.

Professor Lawrence Pratt, from the United States, holds a Master's degree in Public and Private Administration from the Yale School of Management. I have graduated from the College of William and Mary (Williamsburg, Virginia, 1987), with an AB in Economics.

He is a tenured professor at INCAE, where he teaches courses on sustainable development and sound business strategy, both environmental and social, in INCAE's Masters Programs as well as in the Executive Education Programs. From 2009 to 2015 he was Director of INCAE's Latin American Center for Competitiveness and Sustainable Development (CLACDS), having served as Associate Director of the Center since its founding in 1996.

He is currently working as a Senior Researcher at INCAE Business School.

He is a graduate of the Executive MBA and the Executive Master in Business Analytics and Data Management, both with High Honors.

He is a doctoral candidate (Ph.D) from the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University, in the Netherlands.

Luciano Ciravegna is Full Professor and Director of Research. Ph.D. The London School of Economics; MPhil, University of Oxford; BSc with Honours, the London School of Economics. 

As a lecturer at the Institution he teaches courses in the areas of Marketing and Strategy. He has done research and consulting work in Costa Rica, El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru, Chile, Brazil, Colombia, UK, Austria, and Italy. He has also worked as a business risk analyst focusing on Latin American markets.

He is a Full Professor at INCAE Business School, where he teaches Industrial Organization, eBusiness and International Finance. He holds a master's degree and a PhD from Harvard University.

He has conducted research on capital flows to emerging economies, sovereign debt renegotiation processes, particularly those of Ecuador and Argentina, privatization processes in Central America, company valuation methodologies and more recently on global investment strategies.

His article "The External Debt of Ecuador" appeared in Cuadernos de Economía. His articles "Deregulating Telecommunications in Central America" ​​and "Building Electricity Markets in Central America" ​​were published in Larrain, F (2001): Economic Development in Central America, Harvard University Press. In the last issue of Incae Magazine I have published "The consistent use of flows and rates in the valuation of companies and projects".

His academic research has received several international awards, such as the Gunnar Hedlund Prize (2016), awarded by the Stockholm School of Economics for the Best Doctoral Thesis in International Business, the Global Strategy Research Award (2020) by the European International Business Academy recognizing his work in global strategy and the IM Douglas Nigh Award (2020), awarded by the International Management Division of the Academy of Management. He has published research in renowned academic journals such as the Global Strategy Journal, the Journal of Business Research, Corporate Governance, among others.

As an educator, Carlos has been recognized for his teaching excellence and has won the award for best teacher in the full-time MBA program in 2019 and 2020.

As a consultant, he has worked with firms from Mexico to Panama in areas of business and corporate strategy, organizational transformation and strategy execution.
