July 2022. It is with great sadness that we share the sad news of the death of our beloved Dr. Cruz. We accompany his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren in the face of this irreparable loss.
Professor of Marketing in the Master Programs of INCAE Business School. He has extensive teaching experience in Latin America and the United States. He has taught at more than 200 seminars, workshops, conferences in the United States, Central and South America.

Full professor at INCAE, he taught courses on Macroeconomic Analysis, Business Finance and Economic Policy. He was the Academic Director of INCAE's Business Leadership in Development Program. He was a professor at the University of Costa Rica. Dean (1991-1994) and Director of the Master in Business Economics (1987-1990) for the Latin American Center for Competitiveness and Sustainable Development (CLACDS INCAE). He was president of the Central Bank of Costa Rica, Minister of Finance, governor for Costa Rica for the International Monetary Fund, World Bank, Inter-American Development Bank, Central American Bank for Economic Integration.
John C. Ickis (MBA, DBA Harvard University) is Emeritus Professor of Organization and Strategy at INCAE Business School. He is co-author of the book The Octagon: a Model to Align CSR with Strategy among others, and from articles in World Development and The Harvard Business Review. He has written over a hundred teaching cases, many of which have been published in textbooks and cases or distributed by HBS Publishing. He has led workshops on teaching and writing cases in more than a dozen countries in Latin America, Asia, Western and Central Europe, and North America.
The Emeritus Professor of INCAE Business School, Nicolás Marín, originally from Nicaragua, specializes in the areas of banking, finance, international business and business strategy. He has been a consultant and director of industrial, banking and financial companies in the United States and in Latin America. In addition, he has co-authored several books, including: Analysis of Strategic Investments and Mergers and Acquisitions in Practice. In 2013, he was nominated for Business Professor of the Year at the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) of The Economist magazine.
INCAE Business School Professor Emeritus, Roberto Mendoza served as a full-time Senior Lecturer. He has a Master in Business Administration from INCAE and a Bachelor's degree in Public Accounting from the Centro de Estudios Superiores de Managua, Nicaragua.
Dr. Montiel is Professor Emeritus at INCAE Business School. Majoring in Finance, he earned his Ph.D. from Harvard University and a Master's from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He also studied Industrial Engineering at the University of Michigan and Mathematics at Williams College.
Emeritus Professor at INCAE in Costa Rica and visiting professor at the Instituto de Empresa in Madrid. He was a research professor at the Universidad de los Andes and at Harvard University; he has also been a visiting professor in Japan, France and Spain.
Ph.D. Political Economics and Government, Harvard University. Julio Sergio Ramírez, originally from Colombia, specializes in the areas of general management and communication.
Guillermo Selva Tapia, a full-time senior lecturer, holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration with a specialization in Operations Management from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
