Work experience

Francisco is a professional who has two MBAs and is a social entrepreneur. He directs the Latin American Center for Entrepreneurs of INCAE, teaches several entrepreneurship courses within the MBA of INCAE; He is also a speaker, mentor, and jury member in national and international business competition programs.

With more than ten years of leading entrepreneurship centers in higher education institutions. His vast experience shows his expertise in terms of entrepreneurship issues. In this facet of his life, Francisco Pérez: leads regional initiatives to strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem; directs the development of applied research on risk capital, impact investment, seed capital, and family businesses; promotes the creation of new companies through the Master with emphasis in Entrepreneurship; and designs and implements consulting programs for companies on issues of business model innovation and intrapreneurship.

In 2016, his experience as a social entrepreneur was recognized by the government of the United States of America, who appointed him delegate by Costa Rica to attend the Global Entrepreneurship Summit that year.

In relation to productive ventures, he is a founding partner of several companies in Costa Rica, one dedicated to the importation and commercialization of specialized products for collecting, which has been in the market for more than 10 years. In addition, he was a partner in a company dedicated to branding services and is involved in the development of a fintech company that has not yet hit the market. Finally, one of his EdTech undertakings received seed capital from the Government of Costa Rica.

All these achievements have been possible thanks to his determination as he has a Master's Degree in Business Administration from INCAE and an MBA with an emphasis in Marketing from ULACIT, graduated Cum Laude. In addition, he has a postgraduate degree in Market Oriented Innovation from the University of Leipzig; He is a SME Manager from the University of Texas, San Antonio, and is a consultant in family businesses certified by the Nexia Foundation and the IDB. Additionally, Francisco has studied entrepreneurship at Harvard University, MIT, Babson College, Stanford University, 500 Startups and at the London School of Economics.

Currently, in addition to being the Director of the Entrepreneurship Center, he teaches in INCAE's Specialized MBA and Latin American Leadership MBA programs, the Entrepreneurship Methodologies courses, Creation of new ideas, teams, and companies and in the incubation laboratories "El Garaje ”. In addition, he is a facilitator of workshops to promote the creation of companies, thus teaching a wide variety of tools and methodologies at INCAE and the Technological Institute of Costa Rica.
