Biography

Professor Felipe Pérez, a native of El Salvador, obtained a doctorate in Agricultural Economics from Purdue University in 1999, his areas of specialization being Natural Resource Economics and Business Strategy. He also obtained a Master's degree in Business Administration from INCAE with a concentration in Banking and Development Finance, and completed a Postgraduate Degree in Functional Administration with an emphasis on Agroindustrial Management at the same institution, graduating with distinction. Professor Pérez is also an Agronomist with a specialty in Irrigation from the Autonomous University of Chapingo, Mexico, where he achieved honor roll throughout his career.

As a full professor at INCAE in executive and master's programs, he has vast experience, backed by several years of professional practice in different countries, before becoming a member of INCAE. The professor teaches courses on Sustainability Management, Sustainable Development, Introduction to Financial Simulation and Quantitative Methods in the INCAE Master's Programs in Nicaragua and Costa Rica.

Work experience

Felipe Pérez Pineda is a Doctor in Agricultural Economics from Purdue University, his areas of specialization being Natural Resource Economics and Agribusiness Strategy. He graduated from INCAE with a Master's Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Banking and Development Finance, Postgraduate in Functional Administration with an emphasis on Agroindustrial Management from the same institution graduated with distinction. Professor Pérez is also an Agronomist with a specialty in Irrigation from the Autonomous University of Chapingo, Mexico, where he achieved honor roll throughout his career. A member of the INCAE faculty with the rank of Full Professor, he was in charge of the Institute's Agroindustry Program for several years. His experience as a professor at INCAE in executive and master's programs has been supported by several years of professional practice in different countries. He has done consulting work in several Latin American countries and has been a member of international professional associations such as IAAE (International Association of Agricultural Economists) and IAMA (International Food and Agribusiness Management Association). He represented the PMA (Produce Marketing Association) of the United States in the region and is currently a director of several companies in Central America. Currently, Professor Pérez teaches the courses of Sustainability Management, Quantitative Methods and Introduction to Financial Simulation and Entrepreneurship in the Master's Programs in Nicaragua and Costa Rica. He also participates in Executive Education in Project Management, Assertive Communication and Decision Making and Presentation events. He has also been a professor in these programs, of the courses of Quantitative Methods, Making and Presentation of Decisions and Evaluation of Environmental Impact Projects. He has participated intensively in teaching open executive programs and in the In-Company modality in various areas such as Administration and Risk Assessment in Investments, Project Formulation and Evaluation, Project Management, Agroindustrial Project Evaluation and Negotiation. He is the author and supervisor of numerous cases and teaching notes on different topics. Professor Pérez has participated in several international congresses and conferences in various countries around the world and has presented the results of his research. His areas of interest are Competitiveness, sustainability and Inclusivity; Innovation and Inclusive Business at the Base of the Pyramid.
