The Social Progress Index® 2022 uses 12 components and 60 indicators to measure the social performance of 169 countries in full and an additional 27 countries in part, it is the most extensive yet. By looking back on our progress since 2011, we can better understand the direction of the journey so that we can clearly see the progress we are making and where we are falling behind. It gives us a good picture of how people around the world live, what their needs are, and provides an indication of what needs to happen to make life better.
