  • The dean of INCAE Business School, Bernard Kilian, and the dean of the Smith School of Business-Queen's University, Wanda Costen, signed a cooperation agreement between the two institutions.

INCAE Business School and Smith School of Business-Queen's University of Ontario, Canada signed a new cooperation alliance on March 28. Smith thus becomes the second INCAE partner school in Canada with a bilateral exchange agreement. This is one of the schools that recently joined the Partnership in International Management (PIM) network of which INCAE has been a member since 2013.

"This agreement with the Smith School of Business has a lot of potential for collaboration and learning in different areas. Among other things, we are glad that there is access to exchange scholarships for Latin American students, who otherwise would not be able to have that experience," said the dean. Killian.

Through this agreement and the Center for International Management of the Smith School of Business, INCAE MBA students will be able to benefit from the Scotia Bank of Americas Award. At the same time, the Heller Smith Foundation will offer outstanding Costa Rican students the opportunity to apply for the Costa Rica Exchange Award for their exchange at Smith.

"I am excited to sign an exchange agreement with INCAE Business School. This alliance will be one more way to establish contact and learn from the Global South. We look forward to organizing possible collaborative research projects with professors and experiential learning opportunities for our professional masters students" , as indicated by Dr. Costen referring to the signing of this agreement.

In addition to the deans, Prof. Carla Fernández, Director of the MBA and Global MBA programs, and Alexandra Esquivel, Director of International MBA Full-Time Programs, from INCAE; and Angela James, Director of the Center for International Management at Smith School of Business-Queen's University

It is worth mentioning that in 2020 the 100th anniversary of official relations between Costa Rica and Canada was celebrated, and the Smith School of Business has contributed to strengthening the ties between both nations. For this work, the school received a commemorative medal from the Ambassador of Costa Rica in that country.

We hope this agreement will further contribute to fostering collaboration between Canada and Latin America.
