CLACDS/INCAE has a new leader

January 26, 2023. The Latin American Center for Competitiveness and Sustainable Development (CLACDS) of INCAE Business School has a new executive director, Ronald Arce Pérez, who took over the reins of the Center from January 23 . Arce assumes this great challenge to replace Prof. Octavio Martínez Argüello, who returns to his work within the INCAE faculty after leaving a great leadership footprint and excellent results during four years as director.

Ronald is Costa Rican and has more than 20 years of work experience, of which the last twelve he has worked as a CLACDS researcher, in which he has led research and development projects in different areas and countries in Latin America. Previously, he was an economic analyst for the Costa Rican Foreign Trade Promoter (PROCOMER) and has consulted for different organizations. He has a master's degree in Economics from the University of Costa Rica, and has received training on development strategies and international trade in different countries such as Israel, South Korea, Spain and China.

Among its tasks, Arce points out “we seek to strengthen the contribution of CLACDS to the challenges of sustainable development facing our region. For this we have a platform of professors and researchers that allow us to generate proposals and actions that meet the needs of different actors. Our actions seek to promote social progress and improve people's quality of life”.

CLACDS is the main think tank and applied research center of INCAE Business School. This center seeks to promote sustainable development in the region through applied research, capacity building and dialogue. It works closely with government agencies, international organizations, private sector organizations and companies.
