This year's work focuses on aligning private sector climate action with national goals and strategies.

San José, Costa Rica, July 8, 2021. This week begins the activities of the third year of work of the Community of Practice on Public-Private Articulation for Climate Action (ArticuLAC), which will bring together representatives of 52 organizations from Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, the Dominican Republic and Uruguay, to exchange experiences, strengthen capacities and generate new knowledge to promote alignment and collaboration between governments and the private sector of the region in the formulation and implementation of climate and green recovery policies.

ArticuLAC is a joint initiative of the EUROCLIMA + Program through the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, the LEDS LAC Regional Platform and the Latin American Center for Competitiveness and Sustainable Development (CLACDS) of INCAE Business School. It was launched in 2018 with the objective of promoting the creation and consolidation of spaces and mechanisms for the systematic participation of the private sector in the formulation and implementation of climate policies in the countries of the region, and the alignment of the climate action of the companies with national strategies and goals. This year's work will have a special emphasis on this last point.

The Community involves private sector organizations that have initiatives related to climate action, government institutions that must coordinate with the private sector to design or implement policies, programs or projects related to climate action and green recovery, as well as technical institutions and academics that develop activities related to this topic. The 52 institutions that make up this year were selected through a wide call developed during the months of May and June of this year.

During the coming months, ArticuLAC members will participate in virtual exchange sessions, workshops, and trainings, and will collaborate in the development of knowledge products, such as a practical guide based on the experiences of public-private articulation in the region and summaries policy on relevant issues that will be discussed in virtual sessions and working groups. Additionally, webinars and other activities open to a wider audience will be organized to disseminate the learnings and integrate perspectives from other stakeholders.
