February 17, 2021. Promerica Bank Honduras joins the platform Green Retrofit Marketplace, developed by the project CLACDS Ecobanking of INCAE Business School, with the aim of promoting investments in clean technologies, using water and energy in more sustainable and environmentally friendly ways.

 A pioneer in green banking at the national and regional level, Banco Promerica reaffirms its commitment to promote business through sustainable products and services that contribute to the positive development of the communities where it operates, today it joins the Marketplace along with its Green Credits line.

Francisco Llanes, General Manager of Banco Promerica in Honduras, indicated that Green Credits are born from the need to join the change for a green bank that facilitates the financing of more eco-sustainable investments, helping to promote new business opportunities for its clients, as well as the development of friendly businesses with the environment. Llanes assured that joining the Ecobanking project is a step in the right direction in the fight to leave a better planet and set the tone in the country on green banking issues.

In addition to generating savings or efficiency of approximately 15% of the monthly consumption of the companies, Banco Promerica Honduras makes available to its clients the financing of efficient technologies and the generation of energy with renewable sources, thus promoting the self-sustainability of the business.

Gracia Barahona, director of the Ecobanking project and the main promoter of the Marketplace in the country, confesses that the entrance to the platform by Banco Promerica Honduras is important, as a financial institution willing to attract a client that is increasingly aware and responsible for their investments. , even its carbon footprint. Barahona was able to confirm the bank's clear vision by having an innovative and additional channel for the promotion and sale of its financial products and services.

The Green Retrofit Marketplace platform operates since the end of 2020 also in Costa Rica, hand in hand with BNCR and will soon enter other markets in the region, thus fulfilling its objective of promoting low-carbon investments and consolidating knowledge about the advantages that These technologies provide for all the actors involved.
