To begin, I would like to lend some ideas from the academic and essayist, Jaime Hales, taken from his book: The Age of Aquarius: The Great Change Underway, published in 2018, which recounts the great changes and transformations that we are experiencing in the world, including the development of technology and connection. Many people have been scared and are afraid of wars, earthquakes, plagues and, finally, the end of the world. Others, however, see a time of profound change coming, in which machines and technology will subdue humans, or people will appear operating the machines and controlling the lives of millions of people.

They are real fears. However, people do not realize that we have already started a new era in which we are protagonists; that the changes have a direction and that, amid the difficulties that are evident, we are moving towards the formation of a new society that demands fast and intelligent ways of doing things.

This new society is now looking for different ways of doing things, of providing fast and efficient services, as is the case of the INCAE Library System work team, which thinks and looks for a way to reach users with digital services. and innovative, taking advantage of the space provided by technology and seeking continuous improvement. Perhaps, this is one of the great opportunities to move forward, not as we have traditionally done, but by seeking how to accommodate ourselves to the historical context that we live within this new society and our organizations.

Changes are not always well received, there will be some who prefer to continue doing the same, who resist change, these are beings or institutions that society itself will exclude, or that they themselves will walk towards the path of self-destruction. It changes everything changes… !, as the singer Mercedes Sosa says.
