On August 16, another episode of the CLACDS podcast "ENTRE LÍNEAS" came out. According to the Central Bank of Costa Rica, the fiscal deficit in 2017 was estimated at 6.2% of GDP and since 2013 it has been at levels above 5% of GDP. By 2018, this figure could be around 7% if no fiscal adjustment is made.

Our special guest, INCAE professor Francisco de Paula Gutiérrez comments in this podcast why this problem should be solved in the short term and what measures are necessary. According to Don Guti, although Costa Rica is not yet in the fiscal abyss, it is taking small steps that bring it closer to it and if it is not resolved, it is the people with lower incomes who are going to be harmed the most.

ENTRE LINEAS is the podcast of the Latin American Center for Competitiveness and Sustainable Development (CLACDS) of INCAE Business School developed in conjunction with the DVRGENTE communication platform.
